The compensation schemes for offshore wind farms

Well thought out or a million-dollar grave?

The great importance of offshore wind power for achieving the German government's climate policy goals continues unabated. However, offshore wind farms still face technical, economic and also legal challenges. One such is the current legal framework for compensating offshore wind farm operators in the event that an offshore wind farm feeds into the grid via an interim connection because the transmission system operator is late in providing the grid connection and this interim feed-in is also reduced due to grid congestion. Carmen Schneider's and Sven-Hendrik Schulze's essay sheds light on this issue in the IR, 2019, 170-173.
