2nd draft of the Electricity Network Development Plan 2030 submitted to the Federal Network Agency
Short overview of changes compared to 1st draft
The 2nd draft incorporates suggestions from the public consultation on the 1st draft of the NEP (906 comments received; for the NEP 2030 (2017) 2133 comments were received). In particular, the following changes have been made compared to the 1st draft NEP:
- The TSOs estimate investment costs of EUR 61 billion for onshore grid development measures (in the 1st draft NEP, investment costs of "only" EUR 52 bn were reported for scenario B 2030). The increased costs are attributed in particular to more extensive consideration of point measures and to the consideration for a considerable need for compensation facilities.
- The TSOs have calculated a sensitivity "B 2035 - coal exit". The aim is to ensure that the network development measures identified for 2030 as well as for scenario B 2035 are also necessary in the case of a complete coal exit in accordance with the Coal Commission's review recommendation.
